Wirrpanda's fate to be decided next week
West Coast's list management committee will meet next week to decide whether veteran David Wirrpanda should be offered a new one-year AFL deal.
Wirrpanda, 30, is out of contract but eager to play on in 2010.
"We will work through that next week," Eagles coach John Worsfold said.
"We'll have a look at that.
"I have a say on that ... as a member of the match committee, who takes their view to the list management committee and that will all happen."
Mark Seaby has already told the club he will seek a new home, while contracted duo Ashley Hansen and Brent Staker may be used as trade bait.
But the careers of midfielder Chad Fletcher and defender Adam Hunter are officially over.
Fletcher played his farewell match in West Coast's thumping 80-point win over Richmond on Friday night while Hunter, nursing his crippled shoulder, watched on from the sidelines.
Worsfold said the pair played a vital part in the club's 2006 premiership success.
"He (Fletcher) is a life member and premiership player, he came off the rookie list and worked extremely hard," Worsfold said.
"He was the lesser light in the stellar midfield but a massive contributor to getting a team together that was good enough to win a premiership.
"His achievements stack up with most in the game.
"Adam Hunter has some unbelievable memories to hang his hat on.
"Some of the games he's helped us win, not just in terms of the grand final, but games to get into a grand final and building a team from a struggling team all the way through to a premiership team."
Hunter, 28, battled valiantly to prove he could play on next season but a recent stint in the WAFL convinced him his reconstructed shoulder was no longer up to the rigours of senior football.
"He will need more surgery on it at some stage, whether that's in the near future to try to see if he can play any sort of football next year or whether it's long term when they look after him and give him a good shoulder," Worsfold said.
West Coast won eight games this year after managing just four last season and Worsfold said he had been satisfied with the progress made.
"The way we've gone about our footy this year was a big improvement on last year," he said.
"(But) we've got to get a lot better."
