Rosa remains with West Coast
West Coast midfielder Matt Rosa has re-signed with the AFL club, resisting the temptation to seek greener pastures elsewhere.
Rosa had been weighing up his options since the end of the Eagles' disastrous season, which saw the club collect its maiden wooden spoon.
But the 23-year-old, who has notched 90 games for the club since making his debut in 2005, has decided his future will be best served at West Coast, signing a fresh deal with the club.
The length of the new deal was not revealed.
"He needed some time to just think it through," West Coast football operations Neale Daniher told the AFL website.
"He's re-committed to us and we're just really happy about it.
"He's an important player for us.
"He's (played) close to 100 games (and) he's coming to the best part of his career.
"We've got a very young team and we don't have many 100-gamers, let alone 150 or 200.
"He's been at the club five or six years, so he brings some leadership to our young blokes."
With Rosa now locked away, West Coast will be hoping to receive compensation for forward Ben McKinley and Matt Spangher, who have both asked to be traded.
Meanwhile, West Coast have appointed South Australian lawyer Craig Vozzo to the key position of list and contracts manager.
Vozzo will start at the club in December as current list and contracts manager Steve Woodhouse peels back his commitments due to ill-health.
Vozzo, an accomplished player with both West Adelaide and Port Adelaide, has also acted as an AFL player agent since 1994.
"While my primary professional focus has been around my legal practice, the AFL player management business has been something that I have really enjoyed," Vozzo said.
"The role of list and contracts manager at the West Coast Eagles marries all of the skills - and more - into the one position.
"As an outsider looking in, I have always viewed West Coast as an outstanding organisation and I look forward to playing my role in pushing the club up the premiership table."
