Roos not concerned by crowd
Sydney coach Paul Roos says he couldn't care less if Sunday's AFL elimination final against Carlton at ANZ Stadium fails to draw a big crowd.
The last time the Swans hosted a final at Homebush, they couldn't even get 20,000 fans to watch their 35-point win over North Melbourne in 2008.
Despite a recent comment from senior player Ryan O'Keefe that the SCG is the club's true home ground, the Swans are contractually obliged to play their home finals at the bigger venue.
"It really doesn't concern me how many people are out here. I know it's going to be a great game," Roos told reporters at ANZ Stadium on Friday.
"I hope that those who want to come will get a ticket and hopefully it will be a good day because obviously the weather has a pretty significant impact on that.
"You have to get 35 to 40 thousand I would have thought. If we get that, that's fantastic.
"If we get 20 again I think it will be the fans that miss out if they don't come.
"The home-town advantage is more about playing in your own state and the difference is getting on planes and doing all those sorts of things.
"I heard someone call it a neutral venue. I've never been on a plane or travelled interstate to a `neutral venue' in my life."
The Swans have a 3-1 record in finals at ANZ Stadium and have played one SCG final in the past decade, beating Geelong by three points in 2005.
"Look I think it will be an ongoing debate clearly at this venue but we're happy to play out here," Roos said.
Roos is stepping down at the end of the season and co-captain Brett Kirk is also retiring. Both are paying little attention to the club's 0-3 record at ANZ Stadium in 2010 compared to 7-1 at SCG.
"I love playing finals footy. For me it doesn't matter where we're playing," said Kirk, 33, ahead of his 17th final.
"I'd play out in the car park."
The Swans have included all three of their key players who missed last weekend's win over Brisbane - Shane Mumford, Tadhg Kennelly and AFL Rising Star winner Dan Hannebery.
Brett Meredith misses with a hop complaint while youngsters Sam Reid and Gary Rohan were dropped.
Carlton omitted forward Chris Yarran and ruckman Shaun Hampson, while Shaun Grigg was unavailable with a hip injury.
They were replaced by Richard Hadley, Andrew Walker and Sam Jacobs.
