Monaghan pays for his grandad's flight
Former Manly playmaker Michael Monaghan has stumped up the cash to fly out his 84-year-old grandfather Ernie for Warrington's Challenge Cup final against Leeds at Wembley this Saturday.
The Warrington hooker, man of the match in last year's final win over Huddersfield, says it will be special having his support in the stands in the clash against the Rhinos.
"Ernie has never been on a plane before," Monaghan told The Daily Mirror.
"In fact, he has never been out of New South Wales and probably he's never actually left his own town.
"Normally he and my grandmother only watch my games on TV.
"But he jumped at the chance to come over even though he had to organise a passport pretty quickly.
"For him to make the trip is going to be pretty special for me.
"Hopefully we can put in a good performance for his first trip out of the country."
Monaghan's father will also be at Wembley to watch the Wolves try to capture back-to-back Challenge Cup titles.
