Sydney forward McGlynn has surgery
Sydney forward Ben McGlynn was due to have surgery in a Perth hospital on Saturday night after suffering a depressed fracture of the cheekbone in the Swans' nine-point victory over Fremantle.
McGlynn copped a knee to the face from Dockers ruckman Zac Clarke after going in low to collect a loose ball in the third term.
Sydney doctor Nathan Gibbs said McGlynn, who kicked three goals before going off injured, would stay in Perth for several days after the surgery.
"At this stage we expect Ben will miss at least three weeks of football but we will re-assess his condition after the surgery," Gibbs said.
"Our main concern at this time is for Ben's welfare, and we do expect him to make a full recovery."
Clarke was reported for rough conduct.
