Salopek heads Port's woes
Port Adelaide sweeper Steven Salopek's season-ender heads the AFL club's injury woes from their costly loss to Sydney.
Salopek will have scans on his right shoulder, with coach Mark Williams predicting an operation to abruptly end the half-back's season.
Salopek was one of six Power players injured during their fifth consecutive defeat, a heavy 38-point loss to the Swans at AAMI Stadium on Saturday night.
Goalsneak Brett Ebert (ankle), Hamish Hartlett (thigh), Jacob Surjan (knee), Chad Cornes (concussion) and Jackson Trengove (hip) were also added to Port's injury list.
The spate is compounded by several players out of form, notably inconsistent forward Daniel Motlop.
Motlop hasn't kicked a goal in his past three matches, and just six from six games this year, and Williams suggested off-field issues were impacting on his form.
"Much talked of, and the ones that you don't know anything about, are difficult for any player and any person," Williams said.
"Everyone has got to deal with difficult situations and at the moment that is adding to the pressure that is on him, that is for sure."
Regardless, Williams said he'd stick by Motlop.
"He missed most of pre-season, he missed the first six weeks and he's struggling a little bit," he said.
"We'll continue to go with him and hope that he can pick up some form.
"He's not showing the absolute brilliance that we have all seen in the past but I'm sure that it's not too far away, he'll keep working at it."
