Barry's World Cup fate in the balance
England midfielder Gareth Barry is still not sure if he will be fit in time for the World Cup after scans on his injured ankle.
Barry saw a specialist on Tuesday to determine his progress in recovering from the ligament injury he suffered playing for Manchester City against Tottenham at the start of May.
When City announced Barry was likely to be sidelined for four weeks with the injury, England coach Fabio Capello said he would decide if Barry would remain in his World Cup plans following the scans.
But there was no news from the Football Association about the 29-year-old's fitness on Tuesday.
However, the fact Barry is believed to have returned to City for further treatment, rather than flying to Austria to link up with England at their training camp, suggests the former Aston Villa star could be struggling to fit for the World Cup.
