Wests Tiger Flanagan eyes Four Nations
Wests Tigers' second-rower Mark Flanagan is a surprise contender for a place in England's Four Nations squad.
The 23-year-old has just finished his debut season in the NRL and has impressed with his versatility off the bench for the beaten semi-finalists.
"Mark is in the mix. He's had a good season across there and we'll make some decisions over the weekend," England coach Steve McNamara said.
Flanagan's Wests Tigers team-mate Gareth Ellis will definitely make the squad after proving his fitness, along with England's two other Australia-based players, Melbourne's Gareth Widdop and South Sydney's Sam Burgess.
"Gaz (Ellis) is fine," added McNamara.
"He was struggling for a couple of weeks with a back injury but he's through the other side of that now."
