Clock ticking on Folau's 'exit clause'
Marquee signing Israel Folau is keeping Brisbane on edge after again expressing uncertainty about his future at the NRL club.
Folau has nine days to activate a clause in his four-year contract with Brisbane that would allow him to leave the club at the end of the 2010 season to play elsewhere.
He had the unusual clause inserted by his manager because when his long-term deal was negotiated, Brisbane did not have a coach in place with Wayne Bennett leaving to joint St George Illawarra.
The athletic young centre has reportedly attracted interested from overseas rugby union and been rumoured to have sounded out his former NRL club Melbourne about possibly returning to the Storm.
Asked at Wednesday's Four Codes lunch in Brisbane if he had made up his mind, Folau said he was still weighing up "all my options".
"Everyone wants an answer pretty quickly," Folau told the Ten Network.
"I just want that time to think about my options but I'm not that close to making a decision."
Brisbane will be hoping the 21-year-old Australian representative has no plans to leave having signed him as a long-term investment to help attract other players to the club and retain the young players coming through.
