AFL chief hopes Inglis stays in league
AFL chief executive Andrew Demetriou has ruled out chasing in limbo NRL star Greg Inglis.
While the AFL has twice rocked the NRL by poaching Karmichael Hunt and Israel Folau, Demetriou said he would not like to see Inglis lost to rugby league.
Inglis's future remains up in the air, with his South Sydney contract and his release from Melbourne yet to be ratified by the NRL.
But Demetriou said Inglis, who was once courted by AFL club Essendon, was no longer a target.
"He's a terrific athlete Greg Inglis and he's a wonderful rugby league player, but certainly we haven't had any discussions about Greg Inglis," Demetriou said on Thursday.
"I hope that he finds a home in rugby league soon because he'd be a great loss to the game.
"He's just such a fantastic player.
"We haven't even discussed it .... We're happy with Karmichael Hunt and Israel Folau."
