Ross comeback on hold for Souths
South Sydney prop Ben Ross' comeback is on hold for at least another month after a meeting with a specialist.
Ross met the specialist on Thursday hoping for a final clearance to resume his NRL career after suffering a serious neck injury playing for Cronulla 12 months ago.
He will be reviewed again in four to five weeks, the Rabbitohs said in a statement.
The specialist indicated the bone graft in the former Queensland front-rower's neck has continued to strengthen, but he wants it to be 100 per cent solid before Ross plays again.
"Our number one priority has always been Ben's health and we will be following the guidelines set by his surgeon," Rabbitohs CEO Shane Richardson said.
"We won't be rushing him back and we're looking forward to Ben receiving the all-clear for a return to the field."
