Cronulla will not fine suspended forwards Ben Ross and captain Paul Gallen, a Sharks board meeting has decided.

Ross was suspended for seven NRL matches for his elbow to Melbourne halfback Cooper Cronk's head in round two and has been dogged by judiciary trouble and injury since his expensive move to the Sharks from Penrith in 2006.

The former Queensland State of Origin prop missed three matches last year for a high shot which broke Bulldogs prop Kane Cleal's jaw.

Gallen was suspended for three matches in round three for interfering with a bandage on Titans forward Anthony Laffranchi's head in a tackle.

The disciplinary breaches angered Sharks fans and officials with the suspensions a setback to a team which has won three from four matches to kick off their 2008 campaign.

NRL clubs can fine players 1/26th of their annual salaries for every week they are suspended, which would reportedly have left Ross $100,000 out of pocket and Gallen $35,000.

"While in no way condoning the actions of the players involved, the Sharks board of directors in a meeting held last night felt the matter had been dealt with appropriately by the NRL judicial process," a Cronulla statement said on Wednesday.
