Chambers to debut on wing for Qld Reds
Melbourne Storm recruit Will Chambers will make his first Super 14 run-on start when the injury-hit Queensland Reds meet the unbeaten Chiefs in Hamilton on Friday night.
NRL premiership-winning centre Chambers, who has come off the bench in the opening three rounds, will play on the right wing in a completely new back three for the Reds.
Queensland paid a heavy price for last Saturday's 27-18 loss to the Blues with fullback Peter Hynes (finger) and wingers Digby Ioane (knee) and Rod Davies (cheekbone) all injured.
Teenage Wallabies tourist Luke Morahan will start at fullback while Brando Va'aulu was chosen on the left wing.
Reds coach Ewen McKenzie also made one change to his forward pack with No.8 Leroy Houston promoted from the bench and youngster Jake Schatz making way, with Scott Higginbotham moving from the back of the scrum to blind-side flanker.
Queensland Reds: Luke Morahan, Will Chambers, Morgan Turinui, Anthony Faingaa, Brando Va'aulu, Quade Cooper, Will Genia (capt), Leroy Houston; Daniel Braid (vc), Scott Higginbotham, Van Humphries, Adam Byrnes, Laurie Weeks, Saia Faingaa, Ben Daley. Res: Sean Hardman, Greg Holmes, Robert Simmons, Jake Schatz, Ben Lucas, Ben Tapuai, Blair Connor.
