Ferguson named for Indigenous All Stars
Cronulla winger Blake Ferguson has been called up to the Indigenous All Stars team for injured Brisbane star Justin Hodges.
Queensland and Australia representative Hodges was ruled out of February's NRL All Stars game after rupturing his Achilles tendon earlier this month.
Indigenous All Stars coach Neil Henry said while losing Hodges was a blow, he was excited about Ferguson's promise.
"The selectors are excited about giving a talented young player like Blake an opportunity to compete on this stage," Henry said.
"Losing Justin through injury is obviously disappointing but I am sure Blake will make the most of his chance.
"Blake showed just how talented a player he is with his performances at the Sharks last year and is a great addition to our squad."
The inaugural NRL All Stars match will be held at the Gold Coast's Skilled Stadium on February 13.
