England struggle to beat Argentina 16-9
Matt Banahan scored England's first try of the season to give his side a 16-9 victory over Argentina at Twickenham on Saturday after Martin Johnson's team had been booed off the field by their own fans at halftime.
The 2.01-metre winger charged over in the corner to finish off England's best move of the match and give manager Martin Johnson a victory which may take the critics off his back for the short term.
But England were below their best and again had to rely on the boot of flyhalf Jonny Wilkinson, who kicked the other points with two penalties, a drop goal and conversion to go with the nine he contributed to last weekend's 18-9 loss to Australia.
Centre Martin Rodriguez kicked three penalties for Argentina.
