Pumas want Test moved to England
Argentina want to play the first of next June's two scheduled home Tests against England in the UK for financial reasons, the Rugby Football Union says.
England's governing body revealed they had received a request from their Argentinian counterparts.
They added that were the game to get the go-ahead it would be played away from England's Twickenham headquarters in a bid to boost rugby's profile in other regions.
RFU chief executive Francis Baron said in a statement: "Argentina feel that playing one of their two Tests against England in England would generate urgently needed funds to invest in their squads, in particular the Pumas A team due to take part in the Churchill Cup in North America at the same time.
He added: "We are keen to assist Argentina and will take the opportunity of playing the match away from Twickenham to aid rugby development in the regions."
Any change to the tour schedule must be approved by the International Rugby Board.
