Geelong gets official stamp of approval
Already having its fans' stamp of approval after taking out the AFL 2009 premiership, Geelong will now get an official one from Australia Post.
A 2009 AFL premiership team souvenir stamp sheet will be released on Monday to mark the Cats' win over St Kilda.
The stamp sheet backgrounds feature the team's post-match celebrations at Melbourne's MCG.
"The AFL grand final is one of Australia's great annual sporting events, enjoyed by millions around the country," Australia Post philatelic group manager Noel Leahy said in a statement.
"Passionate Geelong fans will understandably be on cloud nine this week and the souvenir stamp sheet provides them with an affordable way to commemorate this historic and special occasion."
Australia Post will also release souvenir stamp sheets to mark the winner of next Sunday's NRL grand final between Melbourne Storm and Parramatta Eels.
