Hayne poised to re-sign with Eels
Parramatta star Jarryd Hayne is reportedly set to re-sign a multi-million dollar long-term NRL deal with the Eels.
In what is a huge boost to the Eels ahead of Friday night's preliminary final against the Bulldogs, a Fairfax website has reported Hayne will next week ink a $2 million four-year deal.
Hayne's manager Wayne Beavis met with Parramatta chief executive Paul Osborne on Thursday and said he will discuss the club's offer with the NSW State of Origin star next week to avoid affecting his preparations for the do-or-die clash at ANZ Stadium.
Beavis said he was pleased with offer being tabled.
"I haven't even spoken to (Hayne) about it yet," Beavis told AAP on Thursday.
"I met with the club today and we're both pretty comfortable where we are at, it now just a matter of talking with Jarryd.
"He's got a big game tomorrow night so I don't intend to give him any distractions.
"Hopefully I can get to him early next week and finalise something one way or another.
"It's just now a case of going through the bits and pieces with Jarryd and making sure he's happy with everything, dotting the I's and crossing the T's so to say."
Hayne, who is off contract at the end of next year, had become a key target for other NRL clubs after an outstanding season which saw him claim the Dally M medal as the competition's best player earlier this month.
