Taylor keen to chat with Souths board
Jason Taylor's manager Wayne Beavis says the embattled South Sydney coach wants a personal hearing with the club's board after submitting his response to a breach notice issued against him.
Souths issued Taylor with the notice following an incident involving second rower David Fa'alogo at the club's end of season celebrations last Sunday and Beavis told AAP he is confident his client will be cleared.
"We have responded to the breach notice from the club before the five o'clock deadline," Beavis said.
"We have asked them to consider the submission and to grant us a hearing so we can talk in greater detail about the case and the content of the submission."
Beavis said he and Taylor have not had the chance to speak to the Rabbitohs board since the incident took place and had been given no indication about when they would respond.
"The rules of natural justice should apply," he said.
"They have to give us a full hearing, we haven't even spoken to the board yet.
"From my point of view, from the weight of evidence and from the circumstances and from my own experience of misconduct cases over many years, this is not a sackable offence.
"We haven't changed our stance. Our position is that we are now in their hands waiting to see what happens."
Souths chief executive Shane Richardson said he was unable to make any comment about the case until the board had discussed it.
