Logan to miss rest of season for Raiders
Canberra prop Scott Logan has been ruled out for the rest of the NRL season after scans revealed he had a fractured cheekbone.
Logan suffered the injury in the Raiders' bruising 24-12 upset of NRL front-runners St George Illawarra last Saturday.
The loss of Logan has forced a major reshuffle for Sunday's trip to Auckland to face the Warriors, with NSW star Joel Monaghan returning from a bruised knee in the centres and Joel Thompson to move into the back row and Tom Learoyd-Lahrs going to prop.
Raiders coach David Furner said Monaghan would have to get through training this week to prove himself fit for the contest and said the team would miss the experienced Logan for the remainder of the year.
"Joel had last week off because of his injury and has started training again this week to try and be ready for the Warriors," said Furner.
"He'll need to get through the sessions later in the week to make sure he's okay but we're confident he will be.
"Losing Scott Logan is a blow as he has got us going forward the past couple of weeks, having said that we've pushed Tommy Learoyd-Lahrs up into the front row and we know he can do the job."
