West Coast's Hunter out for six weeks
Struggling West Coast have suffered another major blow, with experienced defender Adam Hunter to be sidelined for six weeks with a knee injury.
Hunter hyperextended his left knee during the Eagles' AFL loss to the Western Bulldogs on Saturday night, with scans showing he sustained bone bruising.
That news came after young midfielder Shannon Hurn was on Monday ruled out for 4-6 weeks with a fractured fibula.
And star midfielder Daniel Kerr has accepted a three-match suspension for head-butting the Bulldogs' Scott West.
The Eagles were already in a bad form trough, having lost their past five games, three of those by 10 goals or more.
