Bombers' Lovett-Murray cops ban
Essendon will lose utility Nathan Lovett-Murray for three AFL matches after he accepted a ban on Monday for rough play.
Lovett-Murray was booked for engaging in rough conduct after a heavy hit on Richmond's Kayne Pettifer during Saturday's game at the MCG.
Had he contested the charge and lost, he would have faced a four-match ban.
Geelong star Matthew Stokes will be sidelined for a week after he took a one-match sanction for striking Western Bulldog Liam Picken during the clash at Etihad Stadium last Friday.
Geelong's Jimmy Bartel lost his bid to reduce his tally of demerit points at the AFL tribunal on Tuesday night.
Bartel was found guilty of tripping the Western Bulldogs' Shaun Higgins last Friday night at Etihad Stadium and now has 88 demerit points on his record.
The 2007 Brownlow medallist remains eligible to play Essendon on Sunday, but was aiming to keep a clean slate on his judicial record.
