Brown re-signs with Western Force
Wallabies forward Richard Brown has signed a two-year deal with the Western Force.
The new contract will see the powerful No.8 stay in Perth with the Super 14 franchise until the end of the 2011 season.
Brown made his breakthrough with the Wallabies last year, making his debut in the Bledisloe Cup decider against the All Blacks in Brisbane, going on to pick up five Test caps.
A foundation player with the Force, Brown has picked up 39 Super 14 caps since moving across from his home state of Queensland.
The 24-year-old, who was fined and ordered to do community service with then team-mate Scott Fava for mistreating protected native quokkas on Rottnest Island in November 2007, said he was happy to commit his future to the Force.
"I'm very happy with the decision I've made but it was important to weigh up all of my options in the contracting process," he said.
"I feel that I play my best football when I'm enjoying the game and in the end it came down to where I was going to be happiest and where I feel I can develop the most as a player."
The Force have also landed experienced Hurricanes prop Tim Fairbrother on a two-year-deal starting in 2010.
The 27-year-old former New Zealand under-21s representative knocked back offers from Europe to join the Force from 2010.
Fairbrother is not one of the two foreign player positions allowed on a Super 14 roster as he is eligible to play for the Wallabies due to Australian grandparents.
