Anasta slams Bronco Parker for diving
Sydney Roosters captain Braith Anasta has slammed Brisbane's Corey Parker for being a diver after the Broncos forward claimed he was kicked in the head during Friday's night clash at the SFS.
Parker fell to the ground in the 34th minute after copping an errant boot from Nate Myles as the Roosters forward was on his back and fighting to get to his feet for the play the ball.
Myles was placed on report for the incident and from the ensuing Brisbane penalty the Broncos were able to march down the other end of the field and score the only points of a tense first half.
After the game, won 28-24 by Brisbane, Anasta claimed Parker faked the injury so he could win a penalty.
"He did well. He deserves a trophy for that one," said Anasta.
"He did not have a cut on his face." "(Myles) was trying to get out of the tackle and get a quick play the ball for the team.
"It is just ridiculous.
Parker agreed that the incident did not deserve a penalty, but was upset at claims he took a dive and had a cut on his eye to prove he copped a boot in the face.
"He kicked me in the face and I have got a cut on my eye," said Parker.
"It was just an accident. He was trying to get up.
"I put my head in the wrong place." "I was pretty surprised a penalty was even given.
