Former Wallaby Kefu joins Wasps
Former Wallaby centre Steve Kefu will play for Wasps on a two-year contract starting next season, the English Premiership champions announced on Tuesday.
Kefu, who won six caps for Australia between 2001 to 2003 will be joining Wasps from French club Castres, where he has spent the past three years.
The 29-year-old has been chosen as a replacement for Wasps's New Zealand-born England centre Riki Flutey who is heading across the Channel to play in France's Top 14 for Brive.
"Steve Kefu provides us with the experience we want to replace Riki Flutey at 12," said Wasps director of rugby Ian McGeechan.
"Not a dissimilar player, his experience will be a great benefit to the squad and will be very good for our younger players," McGeechan, who will coach the British and Irish Lions in South Africa this year, added.
Kefu was one of three signings announced by Wasps on Tuesday for next season, with England wing Tom Varndell and Bristol back-row Dan Ward-Smith also on their way to the London club.
