Saints appoint Nettlefold as CEO
St Kilda have appointed board member Michael Nettlefold as their new chief executive, less than a week after Archie Fraser quit the AFL club.
Nettlefold will continue as a board member and start in the CEO position on April 27.
"The St Kilda Board believes that Michael brings proven business acumen and a strong football pedigree to the role," Saints president Greg Westaway said in a statement.
"He is an ideal replacement for Archie Fraser."
Nettlefold served on the Saints board in 2000 and rejoined last year.
Fraser announced last week he would join the FFA as head of the Hyundai A-League.
Nettlefold played for St Kilda and Fitzroy in the late 70s and early 80s and is now a successful businessman.
"As far as football is concerned this a great result," coach Ross Lyon said.
"I've been working closely with Michael, Nathan Burke and Andrew Thompson for the best part of 18 months and they've all added considerable value to our club and helped us create a winning formula for the future.
"Michael's proven track record and understanding of how a football club operates will ensure that St Kilda grows and builds on the progress achieved already."
