Evans brothers in Scotland v France game
Scotland brothers Thom and Max Evans will start a rugby international together for the first time in Sunday's Six Nations match against France in Paris.
The Glasgow Warriors players were omitted from the starting lineup for last Sunday's 26-13 opening loss to Wales.
But Max Evans went off the bench to score Scotland's only try at Murrayfield and is one of five changes to the side comprehensively beaten by the Grand Slam champions.
Scotland assistant coach Graham Steadman said it was a mistake not to use winger Thom Evans last weekend after he had scored nine tries in 14 matches for Glasgow this season.
Scotland coach Frank Hadden delayed naming his side until Wednesday to consider his injury list.
Hines (knee) and prop Euan Murray (ribs) were ruled out of the game in Paris with the same injuries that kept them from meeting Wales. Hines might need five weeks to recover from knee surgery, said Scotland doctor James Robson.
Prop Geoff Cross and winger Simon Webster were also still recovering from concussions against Wales, and needed to pass a neurologist's test.
SCOTLAND: Hugo Southwell, Simon Danielli, Max Evans, Graeme Morrison, Thom Evans; Phil Godman, Mike Blair (captain); Allan Jacobsen, Ross Ford, Alasdair Dickinson, Jason White, Jim Hamilton, Alasdair Strokosch, Simon Taylor, John Barclay.
Replacements: Dougie Hall, Moray Low, Kelly Brown, Scott Gray, Chris Cusiter, Chris Paterson, Nick De Luca.
