Farah begins talks with Titans
After an official "meet and greet" on Wednesday, the Gold Coast Titans are hopeful of a final decision from Wests Tigers rake Robbie Farah by Christmas.
The Gold Coast set their sights on Farah after withdrawing a lucrative offer to Melbourne Storm captain Cameron Smith.
While talks with Smith's manager Isaac Moses were apparently strained, the Gold Coast have no such problems with Farah's representative Sam Ayoub.
While Farah's manager described their meeting on the Gold Coast on Wednesday as a "meet and greet", Ayoub was very keen for his client to make up his mind before the 2009 NRL season began.
It would mean Farah could sign with the Titans for 2010, then run out for his final season with the Wests Tigers.
"It (a decision before the new season) gives the players the opportunity to make their decision earlier," Ayoub said.
"(When) the season starts they can concentrate and get on with it.
"They are professionals, even if they are moving to other clubs they can still continue their commitment to their incumbent clubs."
Farah and Ayoub met with Titans managing director Michael Searle and coach John Cartwright for dinner on Tuesday night before official talks on Wednesday.
Farah toured the Titans' facilities at Runaway Bay and Robina, and was also tipped to check out real estate in the area.
