Roos not thinking too much about Cats
North Melbourne will cut short their preparations for Sunday's clash with reigning premiers Geelong at Skilled Stadium so the players aren't overawed by the task.
The all-conquering Cats have won 38 out of the past 40 games and are considered near certainties to win back-to-back AFL flags.
The Kangaroos have emerged as a genuine premiership threat after winning their past six matches but acknowledge beating Geelong on their home turf will be a big ask.
Such is the aura of invincibility surrounding the Cats, coach Dean Laidley admitted the regular tactical meeting designed to break down their rivals' strengths would be shorter than usual.
"We'll do our opposition meeting this morning and it'll probably be a bit shorter because I think if you go into it too much it can become quite daunting," he said.
"So let's concentrate on what we're trying to achieve rather than looking at the, whatever you want to call them, behemoth.
"They're a wonderful, wonderful, wonderful side. It will be a tough ask but we'll go down there and give it our best shot.
"We're in pretty good form. But going down to a hostile environment like that, we've had some good wins down there in the last few years but we've come off a couple of hidings so we need to make sure we're at our best."
