Harvey re-signs with North Melbourne
North Melbourne have re-signed captain Brent Harvey to a new one-season AFL deal.
Harvey, 32, has agreed to new terms to play a 16th season in 2011, in which he could become the Kangaroos' games record holder.
The champion rover has played 292 career games and is enjoying another strong season, best afield in North's win over Port Adelaide in round 13.
Retired great Glenn Archer is the club's current games leader on 311.
North coach Brad Scott has said his view of Harvey this year had exceeded his previous thoughts and on Thursday predicted his skipper could continue playing for some time.
"He's showing no signs of slowing down, he's still got his blistering pace which we've seen this year," Scott said.
"We're really pleased that he's signed on for another year, he's going to be a one-club player and he's really a reflection on what we're building here.
"He thinks it's an exciting time and he wants to be part of it."
North are amid a good stage of their season as three straight wins have put them in the hunt to play in the finals.
They play reigning premiers Geelong at Skilled Stadium on Sunday.
