Port wary of Bailey's inside knowledge
Melbourne coach Dean Bailey believes Port Adelaide will reshuffle their game plan on Saturday because of his inside knowledge of the Power.
Bailey was Port's assistant coach from 2002-07, a period during which they won the 2004 premiership.
"I know their players very well, I know their structures and set-ups so they'll probably change a few things, I would think, from what they had last year knowing that I've got a reasonable idea of how they perform," Bailey said.
"Having said that the game's about the players and they determine the outcomes of the games."
While the 2007 grand finalists have plummeted to third last and Melbourne are last, Bailey believes Port will still have their pride on display.
"At the end of the day they've been hit with some injuries and with that comes a drop in confidence and a drop in form," he said.
"And they've lost a lot of close games - the previous year they won them.
"But you could argue that in patches during the year they've played very well and I expect them to be very competitive this week at home.
"I don't think they'd want to lose to the bottom team, I think there's a fair bit of fight still there from Choco(Mark Williams) and all of the guys I know.
"The way Port are going and the way we are going I hope it's going to be an exciting game and we both attack and if it's a high-scoring game that would be great to watch," Bailey said.
