Serial NRL pest faces possible life ban
Serial pest Peter Hore may be banned from NRL matches for life after gatecrashing Monday night's match between the Parramatta Eels and Newcastle Knights at Newcastle's EnergyAustralia Stadium, police say.
Despite being banned for life from the venue, the long-time tormentor of sporting and cultural events pushed a security guard out of the way and kicked a gate open to run onto the field just 20 seconds after kickoff.
Hore, wearing a Chaser '07 T-shirt and with a guitar case on his back, jumped on top of Fuifui Moimoi as the Eels forward was being tackled.
In the end, the only thing Hore couldn't side step was a Brett Finch crash tackle, the Eels halfback driving the public annoyance into the ground with a copybook hit.
Hore was eventually escorted from the field by security before being taken away from the stadium by police.
He has been charged with assault and enter/remain on a playing field without authority and granted conditional bail to appear in Newcastle Local Court on August 27.
Police and the NRL will meet on Tuesday to consider the possibility of a banning Hore from all NRL matches for life.
