Kite cleared for Origin consideration
Brent Kite's Origin III prospects have received a boost with the Manly prop escaping suspension from the NRL match review committee.
Kite was charged with a grade one careless high tackle for his 65th minute hit on New Zealand Warriors centre Brent Tate in Sunday's 20-14 win to the Sea Eagles in Auckland.
The charge carries a 75-point penalty or 56 points with an early guilty plea, neither of which will see him spend any time on the sidelines.
The Test front rower is in line for and NSW recall, and is vying with Jason Ryles, Mark O'Meley, Luke Bailey and Ben Cross for a spot in the Blues engine room.
Parramatta prop Fuifui Moimoi is facing a one-week ban for his match-deciding late tackle on Cronulla halfback Brett Kimmorley on Sunday.
Moimoi was charged with contrary conduct - dangerous contact with kicker - after catching Kimmorley late and high in the final minute of the drama-charged Toyota Park clash.
The Sharks won the match on the back of the ensuing penalty with Luke Covell steering over a simple goal for a 16-14 victory.
