West Coast pair in need of surgery
West Coast's season from hell is about to receive another almighty blow with AFL defenders Brett Jones and Adam Hunter set to go under the knife within weeks.
Hunter, who missed four games earlier in the year after hyper-extending his knee, is battling both a shoulder and knee complaint.
But it is Jones, who is battling a serious knee injury, that is of most concern to the club's medical staff.
Worsfold said it was yet to be determined when the pair would undergo the season-ending surgery but indicated it would be sooner rather than later.
"His (Jones') surgery is such that surgeons would suggest he needed 12 months rest, but they understand elite sports people don't have that luxury," Worsfold said.
"It is a bony problem and associated cartilage problems. It is fairly major in terms of the time it takes to fully heal.
"Ideally he will be four months without running on it."
Worsfold said Hunter had carried his injuries throughout most of the season.
"He is pretty sore and he needs surgery to fix both his problems," Worsfold said.
"But the question is when do you think what he gives the team is not enough and he might as well go and get fixed?
"Look at him in the backline last week, he struggled to play how he can play. He could run out and play this week but play below his best.
"It is starting to get to the point where it is starting to wear him down."
Mitch Brown (knee), Beau Waters (elbow) and Chris Masten (groin) have already had their seasons ended by injury, while Shannon Hurn (leg) and Matt Rosa (ankle) are unlikely to appear again this year.
The news is another bitter blow to the Eagles, who have only two wins to their name from 15 rounds and are in grave danger of collecting their first wooden spoon.
Meanwhile, Worsfold remained tight-lipped about what additional penalty star onballer Daniel Kerr received from the club's leadership group following his latest suspension.
Kerr received a three-match ban for his off-the-ball whack on Richmond's Matt White and fronted the club's leadership group on Wednesday morning to determine an additional punishment.
But Worsfold refused to reveal what penalty, if any, the leadership group dished out.
"That meeting has taken place and it went very well, thanks for asking," Worsfold said.
"I'd think if you're on the ball, see if you can pick it up, he's got whip marks on his back but unless he takes his jumper off, you might not see them.
"I am not going to comment on what they have decided and I am not going to go into what is said between the players.
Kerr's latest offence takes his tally of suspensions to 11 matches and Worsfold said the fiery midfielder needed to curb his on-field antics.
"The two suspensions he has had this year have been avoidable," Worsfold said.
