Liverpool losing patience with Neill
Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez has warned Socceroo Lucas Neill he is running out of patience in his pursuit of the Blackburn Rovers defender.
Benitez has been on the trail of Neill since earlier in the season when the Australian declined the option to extend his contract at Ewood Park.
Liverpool and Blackburn have reportedly agreed a fee for the 28-year-old, whose current contract expires in the summer.
But with West Ham now entering the race for his signature, the Reds manager has been unimpressed with the time Neill and his representatives are taking resolving his future.
"We are continuing working on these things but we will not wait," Benitez said.
"If a player wants to come to play for Liverpool, he must say yes quickly.
"If he thinks about it for too long, maybe it's a signal it's time for us to look for other players. We have alternatives."
Neill is believed to be considering an offer from the Hammers worth a much larger wage packet than Liverpool is prepared to offer.
Neill's representatives are reportedly demanding STG30,000 ($A75,367) a week for the player, but Benitez insists he will look elsewhere if a decision is not made soon by the 2006 World Cup player.
Neill arrived at Blackburn in 2001 from Millwall and has made over 200 appearances for the Lancashire club.
