Jana Pittman gives birth to a baby boy
Former Australiana 400m hurdles world champion Jana Rawlinson (nee Pittman) has given birth to a baby boy.
Cornelis Rawlinson was born at 7.40am (AEDT) on Thursday in Sydney, a statement on the Athletics Australia website said.
Both mother and son are reported to be doing well.
Rawlinson returned to Australia after spending most the year in England with her husband and coach Chris.
Only last week she hoped to be back and racing within a couple of months of the birth and was confident she would have no problem making Australia's team for the August athletics world championships.
She said the pregnancy had been planned to best fit in with her future ambitions.
Rawlinson became the 400m hurdles world champion in 2003.
