Bulls thrash Redbacks at the Gabba
Queensland moved into first place on the ING Cup points table after crushing South Australia by seven wickets at the Gabba on Friday.
The Bulls cruised to victory with 26 overs to spare, reaching 3-84 in reply to South Australia's total of 83 from 21 overs.
It was the Redbacks' lowest total in domestic one-day matches following a score of 87 against Western Australia in Perth in 1989-90.
Queensland all-rounder Lee Carseldine was named man-of-the-match after taking 4-6 from four overs and scoring 16 as the Bulls casually headed to victory well before the sun went down on the day/night game.
Damien Mackenzie (3-20 from three overs) and Scott Brant (3-33 from six) also claimed wickets for the Bulls, who recorded their fourth win from six matches.
The victory pushed them ahead of NSW, which plays its sixth match on Sunday against Western Australia in Coffs Harbour.
The Bulls were never troubled during their run chase despite the loss of Test batsman Martin Love for 16, but inexperienced opener Daniel Payne (25) remained solid.
The Redbacks, who remain in bottom place with one win from six matches at least were encouraged by the form of debutant left-hander Mark Cosgrove, who top-scored with 24, and debutant quick Mark Cleary (2-16).
But the visitors, who have already lost Mark Higgs to a hip injury, could lose paceman Paul Rofe for Sunday's Pura Cup match against the Bulls at the Gabba.
Rofe left the field with a hand injury after bowling just four balls of his first over. He was injured trying to stop a return shot from Carseldine.
