Australia takes world squash title
Australia has won a record eighth world team squash title with a resounding 3-0 win over France in the final in Vienna.
The top seed Australians did not lose a match in the entire tournament, sweeping through all seven rubbers 3-0 to defend their title in emphatic style.
World No.3 David Palmer got Australia off to a good start despite a lapse in the third game when he beat No.4 Thierry Lincou 9-0 9-2 6-9 9-5.
Anthony Ricketts, ranked six, stormed home in the final game after a tough contest with Gregory Gaultier to win 9-4 7-9 9-2 8-10 9-0.
Paul Price then beat Renan Lavigne 9-3 9-3 in the dead rubber.
Second seed England beat Egypt 3-0 in the third place play off.
