Power back in squash's No.1 spot
Canadian Jonathan Power is the new world No.1 squash player.
Power, who won the rich Saudi International earlier this month, returns to the top spot four-and-a-half years after he was last ranked No.1.
Amr Shabana, who in 2003 became the first Egyptian to win the World Open, is ranked No.2.
Australians Anthony Ricketts and David Palmer hold onto third and fourth places respectively in the new rankings, ahead of France's Thierry Lincou who, after spending the whole of 2005 at No.1, will begin 2006 at No.5.
Power enjoyed a sparkling 2005, winning five PSA titles from five final appearances.
"This was my goal this year, to give it a big push and go back to the top," said Power after the Saudi triumph which clinched his return to the top of the PSA rankings.
