Bradman bat goes for $58,000 at auction
Sir Donald Bradman's first Test cricket bat has sold for $58,000 at a sports auction in Sydney.
Bradman's bat from his Australian Test debut in 1928 was the top item to go under the hammer at Cromwell's Auction Group at Pyrmont.
The former batting great, who averaged a world-record 99.94 in 52 Tests between 1928 and 1948, scored just 18 and one with the bat on debut against England at Brisbane's Exhibition Ground in late 1928.
