Psaros stands down as Qld rugby boss
Queensland Rugby Union chief executive Theo Psaros has announced he is standing down from his position.
Psaros will continue on with the QRU in a consulting role until his departure becomes effective early July.
Psaros, who is looking at returning to the commercial sector, said he intends to continue working with the Reds in a consultancy basis.
"The beauty of it is that I am going out on my terms," Psaros told AAP.
"The time is right. There's a new board, a new coach and I thought it was time for a new person in the role."
Queensland, yet to re-sign any of its 19 off-contract players, is also braced for another key 2006 figure to jump ship with Julian Huxley heading to the Brumbies on a two-year contract.
