Canada to host women's rugby World Cup
Edmonton will host the 2006 women's rugby World Cup, the International Rugby Board has announced.
The Canadian event will be the fifth women's World Cup, and the first outside Europe. Previous hosts were Spain, the Netherlands, Scotland and Wales.
For the first time, the IRB will pay up all of the teams' transport and accommodation costs, bringing it in line with its other major tournaments.
New Zealand is the two-time women's World Cup defending champion. Canada finished fourth in 2002.
