Qld's Noffke gets ING Cup call-up
Mitchell Johnson's surprise call-up to the Australian one-day side has given fellow Queensland quick Ashley Noffke a welcome reprieve with a berth in Sunday's ING Cup clash against Victoria.
Noffke, a former Ashes tourist, has not played for the Bulls in the shorter version of the game since the opening match of the season.
He was belted by a rampant NSW on that occasion and finished with figures of 1-55 from 10 overs.
Queensland will fly to Melbourne On Friday morning where they link with Test opener Matthew Hayden, who has missed the build-up due to sponsors' commitments.
Hayden and Shane Warne will go head-to-head during the match with neither player involved in Australia's current one-day series against New Zealand.
Queensland: Jimmy Maher (capt), Matthew Hayden, Clinton Perren, James Hopes, Craig Philipson, Chris Simpson, Chris Hartley, Andy Bichel, Nathan Hauritz, Ashley Noffke, Michael Kasprowicz, Nathan Reardon (super sub to be named).
