Thompson quits Dragons
Long-serving St George Illawarra forward Lance Thompson has left the club by mutual agreement.
Thompson fronted the Club board on Tuesday evening at St George Leagues Club and emerged after almost two-and-a-half hours.
"I'm happy it's all over and done with," Thompson said.
"I'm pretty happy with the outcome so I can move on and obviously look to brighter pastures."
Thompson's legal representative, Chris Murphy, said Thompson would be leaving the club and terms had been agreed
"We've agreed on terms, I'll just say these three things," Murphy said.
"That his playing contract of 30th October 2003, which was to expire on the 31st October of next year has now been terminated by mutual agreement.
"The Club indicates that the player's obligations under his playing contract during the period of that contract to today's date were discharged by him to the satisfaction of the club.
"The matter has been resolved and settled and Lance is available for a new club next year.
Thompson, who reached the 200 first grade game landmark with the club this season, was asked to appear before the board to show cause as to why he should not have his contract terminated for alleged misconduct.
