Galloway adds extra bite to Sharks pack
Cronulla prop Keith Galloway has vowed to add some extra bite to a depleted Sharks pack as the NRL club fights for survival this Saturday without enforcers Hutch Maiava and Jason Stevens.
Galloway was named alongside Danny Nutley in the front row for the sudden death clash with St George Illawarra at WIN Stadium after both Maiava and Stevens were left sidelined with shoulder injuries.
The Sharks trained in enemy territory on Tuesday as part of a two-day mini-camp at Wollongong.
Galloway admitted the loss of both Maiava and Stevens was a concern, but remained confident the Sharks could upset the red-hot Dragons despite limping into the top eight with consecutive losses.
"Obviously it's a big blow, but that's rugby league, we've just got to get on with it," Galloway said.
"I'll put my hand up and get the team going forward.
"We're still pretty confident we can win, we've just got to go out there and give it our best, that's all we can do."
Dragons coach Nathan Brown has also been forced to shuffle his forward pack with Ashton Sims coming into the backrow in place of the injured Ben Creagh (knee, 2-3 weeks).
Representative centre Matt Cooper (hamstring) was named to return after a two-week absence despite having only a light run.
Hooker Dean Young and second rower Lance Thompson were also absent from training, but were expected to be back on the paddock come Thursday.
