Payten extends Tigers deal until 2011
Wests Tigers have bolstered their forward stocks by signing up prop Todd Payten to the end of the 2011 NRL season.
The 2005 premiership winner was off-contract at the end of next season but has agreed to extend his contract by a further two years.
"His decision to re-sign means it almost completes the formation of the Wests Tigers pack for the next few years," said Tigers recruitment manager Warren McDonnell.
"It means we now have Todd Payten, Keith Galloway, Bryce Gibbs, Chris Heighington, Daine Laurie and Gareth Ellis signed until at least the end of 2011."
The 29-year-old has played 202 first grade games in a career that included stints with Canberra and the Sydney Roosters before heading to the Tigers.
"One of my aims is to play 250 first grade games in the NRL. If I can achieve that goal, I would be pretty happy," Payten said.
"By re-signing for a few more years, it shows the quality of the pack we have and hopefully it will lead to some more talented players signing with Wests Tigers."
