Tait, Kasprowicz to stake Ashes claim
Jason Gillespie's replacement in Australia's fourth Ashes Test team could be known on Monday.
Reserve pacemen Michael Kasprowicz and Shaun Tait will get the chance to bowl off against each other on the final day of the two-day match against Northamptonshire - and to the winner might go a spot in the team to play England at Trent Bridge.
Australia is sure to drop Gillespie from the Test team, but is yet to settle on which quick will bowl first change to Glenn McGrath and Brett Lee at Nottingham.
McGrath and Lee each claimed a wicket on day one to leave Northants 2-29 at stumps.
Their double strike made it a dominant day for Australia, which piled on 6-374 before it declared with 15 overs left in the day.
The twin highlights of Australia's innings were centuries to Matthew Hayden (136) and Michael Clarke (121), who put on 206 for the fourth wicket and struck nine sixes between them.
Hayden's innings was a big bonus for Australia as the opener has scraped together only 145 runs in the first three Tests, with a highest score of 36.
