Wallaby Henjak to be sent home
Back-up Wallabies halfback Matt Henjak will be sent home from South Africa following a nightclub incident here last week.
Star players Lote Tuqiri and Wendell Sailor have also been reprimanded receiving two-match sentences, suspended for two years, and a $500 fine each for breaching team standards.
Australian management have confirmed Henjak threw the contents of a drink towards a patron at a nightclub in the early hours of Thursday morning.
The team disciplinary committee concluded the act was inappropriate behaviour in a public place and a breach of team standards.
It is believed Henjak, who was also fined $500 and received the same two-match suspended sentence, will be the first Wallaby player to be sent home from a tour in almost 40 years.
Former Australian hooker Ross Cullen was sent home from the Wallabies tour of Britain and Ireland in December 1966 for biting the ear of opponent Ollie Waldron during a mid-week match against Oxford.
Prop Matt Dunning, who was also out but not to the same time, has also been fined.
General manager of 'The Pulse' nightclub, Martin Tucker, reported a group of Australian players had been at the establishment until it closed at 4am.
It was just two days before the Test against South Africa in Johannesburg which Australia lost 33-20.
"We do not have curfews but we do have team standards and we feel these team standards have been breached," team manager Phil Thomson said.
