Hayden in doubt for one-day decider
Matthew Hayden missed training and is in doubt for Tuesday's decider of the NatWest Challenge against England at The Oval.
Hayden suffered an injury to his shoulder before the tied tri-series final last Saturday week and, although he struggled through the first game of the Challenge at Headingley, he could not take his place for the second at Lord's on Sunday.
He injured the shoulder blade in bizarre circumstances, knocking it against a bench in the dressing room.
"I had a really good look at him in the nets and a good chat with him and he's just got a lot of pain and isn't moving very freely at the moment," captain Ricky Ponting said.
"He's had lots of treatment and we'll give him until Tuesday to come up."
Should he not come up, Simon Katich is again likely to stand in as opening batsman.
The only other selection question is out-of-form paceman Jason Gillespie, possibly to be replaced in the starting eleven by Brad Hogg or Shane Watson, who is doubtful with a thigh injury.
The Oval's seamer-friendly wicket is in Gillespie's favour as he battles to retain his Test place ahead of Brett Lee and Michael Kasprowicz.
"We haven't got much choice at the moment, because we've got a couple of injuries," Ponting said.
"The Oval wicket I would suspect will help fast bowling more than some of the others we've played on so far, it's been renowned for doing that.
