Kangaroos upset Lions at Gabba
Another Daniel made a mockery of a Lions den with the Kangaroos' Daniel Wells starring in a 19-point upset of Brisbane at the Gabba.
Like his biblical namesake, Wells produced a stunning appearance against the Lions by collecting a game-high 32 disposals and sealing victory with two last quarter acts of brilliance.
It helped Dean Laidley's Kangaroos to complete an amazing six-day turnaround and also put Brisbane's AFL season on a knife edge after 10 rounds.
The Kangaroos snapped a four-match losing streak as they burst through the walls of Brisbane's once-famous Gabba fortress with a 17.10 (112) to 13.15 (93) victory.
The Lions have now lost a staggering five straight matches at home and are on the brink of falling out of finals contention with a 3-7 record.
Almost unbackable favourites before the game, Brisbane's defeat is its first in eight matches against the men from Arden Street.
Jonathan Brown did his best in a roving commission to see the 2001-2003 triple premiers stay in the hunt after trailing by 20 points at the last change.
Brown took two powerful marks for two goals in a minute midway through the term but it was all too late for the Lions.
